The Edmonton Oilers are facing a crisis between the pipes, and all signs are pointing towards an inevitable upgrade in net.

That said, Sportsnet isnider Nick Kypreos has recently published an article that has sparked some conversation in Oil Country, hinting that St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington could waive his NTC to join the Edmonton Oilers.
17 goals in the past 3 games -- this is a massive problem for the Oilers.
While many teams in the NHL are heating up at precisely the right time, the Edmonton Oilers seem to be hitting a wall offensively and struggling in net.
That said, St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington is coming off an impressive showcase at the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament, and his services could be a valuable asset for the Edmonton Oilers.

Jordan Binnington could waive his NTC to join the Edmonton Oilers

Binnington would be the focus of the goalie market, and we shouldn't underestimate the interest level Edmonton, Carolina and Detroit have in him. The Oilers may be one of the teams on his no-trade list, but the Edmonton market and playing with Connor McDavid could re-create the excitement that shot into him at the 4 Nations, so he may waive for them in the end.

Currently, Jordan Binnington has a modified no-trade clause, with 18 teams on his no-go list. He's also got two years left on a deal that pays him $6 million AAV per season.
While the city of Edmonton could very well be on his list, the Oilers have a few important factors working in their favour.
The 4 Nations Face-Off Tounrmanent just wrapped up, and Binnington and Connor McDavid got to experience being teammates for the first time.
Perhaps their newfound sense of brotherhood and a taste of international victory could be enough to persuade Binnington to join the playoff push in Oil Coutry.
Additionally, the Edmonton Oilers are still Stanley Cup favourites, despite their recent cool-off.
One can only assume that idea of joining a Stanley Cup calibre team would be enticing, and the Edmonton Oilers would could certainly benefit from the experience of a proven Stanley Cup winner.
