The Edmonton Oilers will be exploring methods to clear cap space this trade deadline, but two more forwards have been revealed to have trade protections.

Earlier this season it was not reported anywhere that Viktor Arvidsson or Adam Henrique had trade clauses, but now new information has come to light.

Viktor Arvidsson and Adam Henrique will be able to block trade from Oilers

According to new reports from Elliotte Friedman, both Viktor Arvidsson and Adam Henrique have full no-trade clauses for the duration of their contracts.
In Edmonton, discovered Viktor Arvidsson has a NMC. So that's critical to fit into any conversation about him. Henrique has one too. Not sure if both years, but definitely now.
Additional sources have confirmed that both forwards do have full trade protection for their entire contracts.
At the time of these deals being reported, no mention was made of their no-trade clauses. Even Oilers media was unaware of these contract details until today.
It's unfortunate the Oilers don't have the flexibility to have options for clearing salary cap at the deadline. Both forwards were salary cap dump candidates, but Viktor Arvidsson in particular is having a career-worst season, and would've been a fine player to move.

Oilers will be heavily restricted at trade deadline unless Kane misses entire season

Without these players to deal, it will practically impossible for the Oilers to create any cap room, other than trading Evander Kane. In addition, they're stuck with another year of aging forwards trending down.
The Oilers have very few players without trade protection now, and the ones who don't still aren't likely to be dealt.
It's an unfortunate development that the Oilers will be handcuffed by these trade protections this deadline, but it should be no excuse. Management still needs to find a way to land a trade that will give the Oilers the help they need to win a Cup.
