In a recent interview, Oilers coach Paul Coffey made an emotional guarantee that Connor McDavid will win a Stanley Cup with the Oilers, and go down as the best player in history.
When asked about McDavid in a recent interview, Coffey seemed a bit emotional and spoke with some weight, saying that no one knows what McDavid goes through, but his work will pay off in the biggest way.
»Others will never understand what that kid goes through putting those skates on every single night and having to be great, and putting the pressure on himself. But I'll tell you what. He delivers every single night, and we will get him a Stanley Cup Connor will take a back seat to nobody when his career's over.»

Paul Coffey Makes Emotional Statement and Guarantees On McDavid's Career
Paul Coffey may be one of the few people who could say with certainty that Connor McDavid is one of the best players of all time. He's seen the greats of the past as a kid, and played alongside Wayne Gretzky.
To hear Coffey detail the internal pressure McDavid puts on himself to be the greatest player in the world is incredible. The ones that are driven to be the best can pay a price mentally, but McDavid endures it to be better.
By the age of 27, Connor McDavid has nearly every major career accomplishment an elite player could hope for: 1000 points, multiple Hart, Art Ross, Ted Lindsay, Rocket Richard Trophies, and even a Conn Smythe.
The final piece to McDavid's legacy will be his Stanley Cup. The Oilers were just one game away last season, and they're clearly fully motivated to get back this season.
It's truly special to hear Coffey speak so glowingly about Connor McDavid, and how he doesn't shy away from saying he's more talented than Gretzky.
