During a recent episode of the OilersNation podcast, both hosts mentioned how Oilers forward Ryan Mcleod was noticeable for the first time in these playoffs.

Mcleod used his size and some physicality to help the Oilers win Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. He registered four hits which is a welcome change for his game. It's become a glaring problem with the Oilers third line with the lack of scoring that will be needed for the Oilers as the Stars have depth across their lineup.

They also mentioned a need to play more consistently and to be careful with his physicality as it could lead to penalties.

Mcleod's struggles were most apparent when he coughed up the puck in Game 7
against the Canucks and led to the Conor Garland goal. Coach Knoblauch benched him for the remainder of the game.

The 24-year-old forward has been absent on the scoresheet as through 13 playoff games, he has registered no points and is a -4. If Mcleod wishes to get more ice time, he along with his linemates will need to dig in and figure a way to score.

Game 2 will take place tonight May 25th and game time will be 8:30pm eastern.
