While decked out on stage in full Oilers gear, Snoop guaranteed the team will win tonight, and force a Game 7. Only one thing is really guaranteed, and it's that Rogers Place might smell a little funny tonight.
At another point in the concert, fans were chanting out Let's Go Oilers' just like it was a game being played at Rogers Place. Everywhere you go in Edmonton right now, everything is about the Oilers.
Yesterday afternoon's Oilers practice and media had to be entirely rescheduled due to Snoop's concert. The Oilers practiced at the Downtown Community Arena and held their media availability on the fifth floor of Rogers Place to make room for the concert. It's crazy that the Oilers would be disrupted to this level one day before the biggest game of their lives, but the disruption really wasn't much.
Tonight, the Oilers will play the biggest game of the Connor McDavid era. The Oilers have a dominant record on home ice, and they'll need one more to force a Game 7 and stop Matthew Tkachuk and the Panthers from lifting the first Stanley Cup in Rogers Place. The Oilers have shown full belief that they can make the comeback happen, and tonight, they're in a prime position to continue it. If they can win tonight, all pressure shifts to the Florida Panthers.
