With the recent signing of Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek, general manager Patrik Allvin appears to be ready to dump Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev.

Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal stated that player agent Dan Millstein has been granted permission to formulate a trade to see the 29-year-old right winger leave the organization. Since coming over from the Toronto Maple Leafs,
Mikheyev has been underperforming in goals, plus minus and even ice time.

He played 78 games this season and only scoring eleven goals with 20 assists for 31 points and is a plus one with 14 minutes and 15 seconds of ice time. He also had no points during the entire playoffs which shows with that kind of production, it makes his contract unpalatable as he has a cap hit of $4.75 million for the next two seasons.

The Canucks are highly interested in retaining Nikita Zadorov in their lineup As he has proven to be an effective defenseman and help propel the Canucks forward. Zadorov also has an age advantage over Tyler Myers where Myers is 34 years old Zadorov is 29.

If the Canucks hope to retain the 6 foot six 235 LB defender a trade like this will absolutely be needed to give the money to Zadorov.
