Today, the Chicago Blackhawks received terrible news: One of their star wingers will miss the rest of the season due to an injury.

Taylor Hall will be out long-term due to an injury suffered during the Tampa Bay Lightning game.

A hit from Lightning forward Michael Eyessimont on November 16th caused the injury. According to the team, the knee injury will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

In the next two games, Hall would play against the Nashville Predators and Buffalo Sabres, but wouldn't play against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday.

Injuries have limited the former 2010 Edmonton Oilers first round pick to ten games this season, as he was brought in to mentor Connor Bedard.

With 2 goals and 2 assists in ten games, the former Hart Trophy winner has had a meager offensive showing.

The winger is 6 years removed from his 93-point season with the New Jersey Devils, and Oilers fans have a special bond with him, as the winger was one of many first-round selections made by the Oilers between 2010 and 2015.

Oh man, Taylor Hall immediately screams in pain and holds his right leg after this hit. He went to the locker room. #Blackhawks

Following his trade for Adam Larsson in 2016, the winger has struggled to establish himself as a dominant scorer and had recently regained footing briefly in Boston after going from New Jersey, Arizona, and Buffalo.

Although the injury news isn't what we want to hear, Taylor and his wife welcomed a new baby into their family, Stetson over the summer, giving him more time as a father.
