Sharks looking to start season unfortunately short-handed.

The Sharks head into this season with abysmal expectations, coming off a season where they drafted first overall. This roster is not expected to compete at all this season and they already seem to be at even more of a disadvantage.

There's no word yet on what the injuries are, but these injuries are huge losses for the Sharks to suffer. The Sharks are already a team who can't afford to lose anyone if they want to win games, and guys like Couture, Askarov and Mukhamadullin being out are huge blows to the team.

The good news is that these are all for varying reasons, and most of them are most likely minor or non-contact injuries. They signed new players to PTOs to try and fill the spots left by the injuries, although they already seem to have some players returning on the horizon.

Just 4 days after signing goaltender Aaron Dell to a PTO, the Sharks have elected to send him down to start for their AHL affiliate. This could be great news for them, as it most likely means that they'll get to have their new star goalie prospect play in the tandem with Mackenzie Blackwood.

The young guys are going to be very fun to watch for San Jose, despite the team being awful. Guys like Celebrini, Smith and Askarov are going to bring fans into games and generate a lot of revenue and hype for the team. If the Sharks can just let their young guys play this season they may end up with some great development and another great prospect to add to the cabinet.
