BREAKING: Edmonton Oilers 24-Year Old Rookie Star Retires Due to Personal Reasons
Edmonton Oilers prospect Noah Philp has decided to step away from his hockey career, as confirmed by General Manager Ken Holland.
Despite an impressive AHL season with the Bakersfield Condors, where he led rookies in goals, Philp has chosen not to continue playing due to personal reasons.
Noah Philp is retiring from hockey.
Not something anyone really expected to see. Thought he would be joining the Oilers within the next season or two as a solid bottom six option.
The Oilers still have the option to extend a qualifying offer to retain his NHL rights, but he has stated he is retiring from NHL for good, sadly.
Philp's decision comes as a surprise considering his consistent improvement over the past three seasons, culminating in a productive AHL campaign.
