The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that forward Auston Matthews will be out a minimum of three weeks, and potentially four plus due to a lingering injury that occurred just a few days ago during the Rangers vs Leafs game.

Injury update:

Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews will be out of the lineup for a minimum of three weeks due to a knee sprain suffered in Wednesday's game vs. NYR.

Matthews surprisingly has not been the Maple Leafs best player this season as William Nylander has certainly stepped up, taking the team-lead in goals and points. But Matthews has still showed success, with 25-goals and 53 points in 47 games this season.

John Tavares will be replacing Matthews on the Leafs top line for the time being, Matthews is now being replaced in this years All-Star Game by Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers.
