BREAKING: an ex Oilers return to Edmonton is happening
The Edmonton Oilers are poised to make an announcement regarding a signing shortly, with reports suggesting that former Oiler Sam Gagner will ink a professional tryout contract for the upcoming training camp.
Luke Gazdic, a former teammate of Gagner, disclosed this news on Sportsnet 960, adding credibility to the reports circulating over the weekend.
The 34-year-old forward, who spent last season with the Winnipeg Jets, is known for his versatility and experience. Having played for Edmonton in the past, Gagner's potential return marks a reunion with the team that originally drafted him sixth overall in 2007.
The Oilers are looking to add Gagner to their training camp roster for the 2023-24 season.
