Bo Horvat Unwilling to Sign With The New York Islanders
The New York Islanders are quite the odd team, sitting five points out of a playoff spot with a lot of teams chasing them, the playoff hopes for the Islanders can quickly be thrown down the drain with a few losses.
Despite the Islanders in a tough position in the leagues best Metro division, they decided to make a huge splash just three days ago when they traded their top prospect Aatu Raty, Anthony Beauvillier and a first round pick in exchange for the Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat.
This deal shocked many, a lot of analysts expected Horvat to be wanting out of Vancouver, but a fit with the Islanders just doesn't seem right, and it seems as if Horvat is not willing to sign an extension with the team just yet. During Horvat's first interview with the Islanders, his new organization, he was questioned on his feelings about heading to New York, Horvat was left in shock and repeatedly stated ''I thought i would always be a Canuck" three/four times Horvat repeated.
Bo Horvat said he is not thinking of a contract extension right now. He'll let agent Pat Morris and Lou Lamoriello deal with that for now. He just wants to start playing hockey for #Isles and get comfortable on the ice.
This is certainly a matter to consider it a concern for Islanders fans, as they sure forked up a whole lot to acquire the Canucks captain and he has not stated he wants to remain an Islanders. Horvat has one year left on his contract, and during this off-season he can decide to sign to any other organization that'll meet his asking price for a new contract.
