Boston Bruins Milan Lucic Arrested Following Serious Allegations
In a shocking development, the Boston Bruins have announced that 35-year-old center Milan Lucic will be on an indefinite leave of absence from the team after an alleged "domestic incident" on Friday night. The incident reportedly led to Lucic's arrest late that night, according to Duke Castiglione of WCVB in Boston.
The Bruins promptly issued a statement acknowledging the situation:
"The Boston Bruins are aware of an incident involving Milan Lucic Friday evening. Milan is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team The organization takes these matters very seriously and will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they may need. We will have no further comment at this time."
Lucic has been sidelined for nearly a month due to an ankle injury sustained in late October. He returned to the Bruins this season on a one-year, $1.5M contract after playing with the Calgary Flames for the past four years.
This incident isn't the first involving Lucic, as police were called to his home in 2011, though no arrest was made at that time. The Bruins organization pledges to support the Lucic family during this challenging time.
