On January 28th the Edmonton Oilers hosted the Chicago Blackhawks and absolutely dominated the matchup not only in goals but also in the shot category. The Oilers would go on to put up 43 shots to the Blackhawks 29 and would win by a score of 7-3.

During the first period just 5:20 in Tyson Barrie would score his 6th goal of the year assisted by Nuge and no one other than Connor McDavid. That assist would put McDavid at 90 points on the year in his 50th game played. McDavid becomes the first NHL player to record seven consecutive 90-point seasons since Steve Yzerman did it back in 1986-87 up until 1992-93.

McDavid somehow is on a whole other level this year and is currently on pace to hit 150 points which hasn't been done since Mario Lemieux did it back in the 90's. Mcdavid would also end up scoring his league leading 41st goal and would go onto put up 3 points bringing him to 92 points on the year.

McDavid currently has a 16-point lead in the scoring race and behind him is no one other than teammate Leon Draisaitl with 76 points on the season 29 of them being goals and 47 assists.
