Edmonton Oilers Announce New Front Office Hirings including a 2x cup champion
It is only the beginning of the Jeff Jackson era in Edmonton as the front office continues to look inexplicably different.
There were two more front-office hires announced today, in the analytics department and the coaching department.
The #Oilers announce Noah Segall has been named the club's Video Coach & Mike Fanelli has been hired as Video & Coaching Analytics Coordinator.
Fanelli is entering his first season with the Oilers. He previously worked with the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2017-18 to 2020-21. He won two Stanley Cups in this period and helped them develop many top teams.-HockeyPatrol
As part of its new hires, the team has announced the hire of Mike Fanelli for the Video and Coaching Analytics department, while Noah Segall will serve as the club's Video Coach.
The Oilers will be moving Segall into a new position for the upcoming season, which will be his 2nd with the organization. Originally, Segall joined the organization in 2022-2023 as the video coordinator for the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL.
Fanelli worked in Tampa from 2017-2021 in their analytics department. This seems, on paper, like a very solid hire.
During his time in Tampa Bay, Fanelli was a part of the teams that won two Stanley Cups and was a part of the organization from 2017 to 2021.
For a team aiming for post-season success, these hires seem like a solid pair.
