Ryan McLeod officially filed an appeal for salary arbitration to the NHL, meaning he believes Ken Holland could not offer him a fair contract. Now the NHL will hold a meeting to determine if it is true or not, and what a fair contract would be.
Although Bouchard doesn't have arbitration rights, the team intends to secure a significant bridge contract for him. Arbitration hearings will take place from July 20 to August 4. Bouchard's strong performance, particularly during the playoffs, and increased ice time have made him a valuable asset for the Oilers.
