Rogers Sportsnet has become a staple for Canadian hockey and hockey fans. The network is the mainstay for all NHL coverage in Canada and Rogers itself has its name on a few of the arenas.

It certainly came as a shock to me when one of their senior columnists Mark Spector made a bold statement about how he felt about the city of Edmonton and having the All-Star game.

Spector, certainly raise some eyebrows when he tweeted out that in his view Edmonton would be the last place he would want to spend the All-Star week. he goes on to mention that he doesn't have an issue with the NHL Entry Draft being hosted there.

These comments are mirroring the comments that were made a few weeks ago with Boston Bruins superstar forward and longtime troller of the internet Brad Marchand.

He made the statement that no NHL player would take less money to stay in Edmonton. This tweet caused a firestorm across Twitter and even managed to make it to Commissioner Gary Bettman.

The commish had no issues with Edmonton and stated that he'd have no problem having both the NHL draft and the All-Star game in Alberta's city.

I feel that this subject will not be going away anytime soon and we will certainly see more players and officials weighing in on this subject.
