Elliotte Friedman Confirms Oilers Forward is Officially Leaving The Organization This Season
With the Edmonton Oilers missing one of their top goal scorers Evander Kane, they are in need for players to step up and contribute during the loss in the roster. Kane has been practicing and is back on the ice thankfully, but he is still many months away from a return to actual play.
One player who is destined to step up and rejuvenate his play is forward Jesse Puljujarvi, who has six points and holds a plus/minus rating of negative 12. His confidence is at an all-time low, and he recently admitted it during a recent interview.
Puljujarvi had this to say, which raises concern in many areas:
«Twenty games in and I have one goal. It's sad,» Puljujarvi told Finnish journalist Tommi Seppälä, of YLE news agency, on Tuesday evening. «I've been thinking a lot how to do things differently. Right now, I just don't have the answer.»
«Of course I'd like to be a productive top-line player,» Puljujärvi said in his native Finnish, as translated by Seppälä, «But right now, it looks like I can't do that in NHL. Maybe some other league.»
''Maybe some other league'', Said Puljujarvi. Many European NHL players have left the NHL lately to pursue their careers closer to home, whether that is the KHL, SHL or other leagues, but regarding Puljujarvi- he may just need a fresh start with a new organization to get the wheels spinning.
Puljujarvi has been confirmed to be on the Oilers trade block since this past NHL draft which dates back five months ago to July seventh.
Elliotte Friedman has recently stated in his 32 thoughts podcast with Sportsnet that it is not a matter of ''if'' Puljujarvi will be leaving the Oilers this season, but rather ''when'', as he states Puljujarvi will officially be leaving Edmonton, and will defiantly not be with the organization come playoffs.
