Evander Kane visits his number one fan
It's safe to say that Evander Kane has the number one fan within his group. That fan happens to be Cecily Eklund. Over the months, Kane has arrived at birthday parties and other events where Ecklund is and spent time with her as she continues her battle with brain cancer.
Eklund had a group of friends with her today, including her friend Cosmo. Kane without missing a beat spent his time with them, signed a few autographs on some Oilers jerseys and just made these kids enjoy their day to the fullest.
It warms the heart to see athletes willing to spend time with their fans no matter what age they are and give back to the community that follows and cheers for them. Kane also came to his friends' defence when Cecily was receiving terrible treatment from many Los Angeles Kings fans when the Oilers were playing them in the first round.
Kane went to Twitter to explain how disgusted he was with the treatment his friend was receiving caught the attention of an LA Kings fan who had a four-year-old son. He decided to share her donation page on his Twitter account so that other Kings fans donate and show their solidarity with Eklund.
It shows that humanity still has a chance and that people will stand up for others.
