This lacrosse style goal has become more popular than ever and has returned to the news by Trevor Zegras of the Ducks and Connor Bedard of the Hawks.
After those goals were scored, a former NHL enforcer tweeted out his view at what will happen to this style of goal in the very near future. He seems to believe that the NHL as a league will make a move to ban the Michigan attempts. It'd be shocking to think it may be coming from the players' association, so the thinking must be coming from the Comissioner.
The Michigan has certainly stirred a debate amongst hockey fans on whether something needs to be done about this style of goal or to leave it alone as it helps the entertainment value for the NHL. I'm also not sure why they would ban a goal when the league is looking to be an offence driven league.
While the older generation fans may not like the goal, many of the newer fans do and I expect more players to attempt the Michigan as the season continues.
