Is Connor McDavid destined for greatness? Sidney Crosby's bold prediction
Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby are two of the league's top talents, as Crosby has already won three Stanley Cups. All the while McDavid is still trying to obtain his first championship, Crosby has made a point of complimenting his game.
McDavid is dedicated to winning and his dedication drove his team to the 2nd round of the Stanley Cup Finals. Additionally, he scored 153 points in 82 games, which seems impossible in today's NHL, but he did it.
A question about McDavid's abilities was asked by NHL.com's Mike Zeisberger in an interview with Sidney Crosby.
"I mean, I didn't think 150 was going to be in the cards for him but he found a way to get there," Crosby said. "So, I don't think anything is out of the question for him as far as numbers are concerned."
"He just finds a way to find another level time and time again, so I would never bet against him."
He believes McDavid hasn't reached his limit yet and could score 170 points in the near future. The Oilers squad has been back on the ice, as McDavid ran Captain's skates prior to preseason.
McDavid and the Oilers have banked their season on: "Cup or Bust" and the team believes this is their year to win the Stanley Cup.
Even though McDavid is working on improving his own play, he will likely face off again with Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights in the postseason.
Can McDavid silence his critics once and for all by winning a Stanley Cup and silence the haters?
