Is there a possibility for a Yamamato reunion?
Kailer Yamamoto was recently traded to the Detroit Red Wings by the Edmonton Oilers in a salary cap dump.
Despite being paired with multiple star centers, such as Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, Yamamoto failed to make an impact during his time with the team.
It's possible that a fresh start with a new team could revive his career. During free agency, many expected Yamamoto to be a part of the Yzerplan after being traded for future considerations alongside Klim Kostin.
Oilers GM Ken Holland said he's open to bringing Kailer Yamamoto back at the right price. Yamamoto is testing the market.
Holland said Lane Pederson is at worst the No. 1 centre in Bakersfield. He'll get a shot at training camp. However, he was ultimately bought out by the Detroit Red Wings, leaving him without a team.
Fortunately, there may be a chance for Yamamoto to reunite with Ken Holland and join the Edmonton Oilers as a bottom-6 winger.
He's currently testing the market and waiting for the right opportunity to present itself.
