This season, Boston Bruins radio broadcaster Jack Edward's career has trended more than ever because of a controversial subject that went viral online. Edwards, who is already well-known for making conflicting statements on the air, dropped another one when the Bruins faced the Tampa Bay Lightning andPatrick Maroon, a previous Stanley Cup champion.

Maroon is listed at 238 pounds. That was Day 1 of training camp. I've got a feeling he's had a few more pizzas between then and now. Fasting. Inadvertent fasting for Pat Maroon is like four hours without a meal. But hey, [he's won] three [Stanley Cups] in a row! Who can argue with his formula?

About a week after making the remarks, Edwards apologized, but it was likely only as a result of the widely shared fan video in which he spoke those unkind things, which lead toother players expressingtheir displeasure.

The Bruins and Lightning will play each other for the first time since the incident tonight, so Jack Edwards used the opportunity to apologize to Patrick Maroon in the locker room of the Tampa Bay Lightning. But it didn't seem like everything went as Edwards had intended.

First meeting between Bruins and #GoBolts since December and the comments made by Jack Edwards about Pat Maroon, Edwards went to Maroon to offer an apology.

It's not exactly going well for Edwards.

As this was a private conversation, even in a public setting, it's not my place to share exactly what was said unless either party wishes to reveal, but I will say it's evident Maroon is still displeased with the situation.

You can't really blame Maroon for being upset in this case, because Edwards has a history of saying hurtful things that were quickly forgotten, and his apology was only made public due to social media.
