Jonathan Quick makes unbelievable diving stop for save of the year candidate
Moments ago during tonight's matchup between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers, Rangers goalie Jonathan Quick turned back the clock to his former glory and made an unbelievable diving save, one that will be remembered as maybe the best of this season.
With the game tied scoreless in the first period, Florida was threatening with a dangerous offensive sequence and causing chaos around the net. After make a split save, Quick found himself out of position to face another shot, but then sprawled out his leg to make just enough contact to stop the puck.
At 37 years old, it's an incredibly impressive save against an offensively skilled team. Quick has been having great success with the Rangers this year after struggling in the past few seasons, and with saves like these, proving that he can still be an effective NHL goaltender.
In 12 games with the Rangers this season, Quick has a record of 9-1-1 and an impressive 2.27 GAA and .920 save percentage. Clearly, Quick needed a change of scenery to get back to his previously elite form.
