Leon Draisaitl May Face Punishment After Slashing an Official
Oilers superstar centre Leon Draisaitl has been having another stellar season. His stats are showing that he is not slowing down and has played 71 games, scoring 45 goals with 67 assists for 112 points with 28 power-play goals and 55 power-play points.
Tonight against the Arizona Coyotes, he was taking a face-off when centre Jack Mcbain decides to throw him a little spear which he retaliates with a swing of his stick.
Draisaitl missed and ended up hitting the linesman instead. This led him to go to the box for 2 minutes.
In my opinion, the call was botched as the referee missed the spear, and Draisaitl never made contact with Mcbain. I do find it ironic though that less than one minute after Arizona was called two minutes for interference.
Draisaitl has been currently on an amazing point streak in his last five games. He has scored one goal, and 11 assists for 12 points in five games.
The Oilers hope he continues this run into the playoffs to give them a great chance to move through to the Stanley Cup final.
