Scary Moment as Glass Falls Onto Fan and Photographer at NHL Game
During Monday night's game between the Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators, a pane of glass near the ice's corner was dislodged after the Sens' Travis Hamonic was hit by Alexander Barkov of the Panthers. Luckily, no one was injured, but the glass landed on a photographer and a fan. The situation could have been much worse had the glass shattered, causing serious harm to those in close proximity.
Travis Hamonic deserves credit for his quick actions in grabbing one end of the pane and preventing any injuries. This occurrence is a reminder of the potential hazards associated with hockey and highlights the importance of having adequate safety measures in place to protect players, staff, and fans. Although incidents like this are infrequent, they underscore the need to prioritize safety in all aspects of the game.
