Maple Leafs Prospect Lays Motionless After Cheapshot by His Own Teammate
In a rare and unfortunate incident at an NHL development camp, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Roni Hirvonen was on the receiving end of a bone-crushing hit from his own teammate Nolan Dillingham.
The impact caused Hirvonen to fall back and hit his head on the ice, leaving him motionless.
Thankfully, Hirvonen was able to eventually leave the ice under his own power, but the diagnosis revealed that he had suffered a concussion.
This serves as a stark reminder of the physicality and potential risks involved in the game of hockey, even during training sessions.
