When the camera is on and the interview is underway, many NHL players do not perform well in this setting. It's safe to say that engaging in this type of conversation can feel unusual and uncomfortable at times. While some players have a natural talent for conversing on camera, others struggle.

During a rare interview with Connor McDavid, the superstar centerman for the Oilers, he decided to bring his older brother, Cam McDavid, along to help him overcome his interview difficulties.

In the interview, he explained that when he first reached the NHL, he had an awkward way of getting people's attention, particularly in the dressing room. However, with time, his confidence grew stronger and more assertive.

"I've always tried to lead by example first and foremost," McDavid said. "I'm still on the quieter side. I'm an awkward kind of guy. But honestly, the dressing room has become a very comfortable place for me now. If I have to be the one to yell or pick somebody up, I feel very comfortable in those situations."

He also speaks about leadership and offers valuable advice to aspiring leaders aiming to be part of the NHL elite.

"My advice for young leaders would be to simply be yourself," McDavid said. "Nobody wants to feel like their leader is acting or being fake in any way. I believe that being authentic and engaging in difficult conversations is the only way things can improve."

As the Oilers continue their pursuit of the Stanley Cup, I believe McDavid is the individual who will lead them to their sixth victory within the next few years.
