With the draft completed, NHL teams are getting down to work to assess the current potential of their future stars or picks, and to teach them the team's style of hockey play. Every NHL organization holds a development camp in the middle of the summer to provide young prospects with playing time and instructions.

During this year's development camp, the Edmonton Oilers were on the lookout for standout players, regardless of their draft position. The organization organized numerous drills and employed standard development camp methods to provide the players with the fundamentals.

One of the methods they used was the Billy Moores Cup, a three-on-three tournament. The development camp was divided into small groups, allowing teams to scrimmage against one another for a chance to win the Billy Moores Cup.

Throughout the scrimmages and camp, several depth picks caught the attention of the coaches and assistant coaches. Matvei Petrov, Max Wanner, and Ty Tullio particularly impressed the coaching staff and received positive reviews.

As the camp progresses, General Manager Ken Holland remains busy handling phone calls and discussing contracts with a few remaining unsigned players. The player that has captured the attention of the Oilers nation is Evan Bouchard. Whether he remains with the Oilers or gets traded due to contract issues remains to be seen.
