NHL accused of cover up after huge expansion news revealed during scandal
With all the news this morning about Hockey Canada's ongoing investigation, that seems to be the hot topic everywhere you look online about hockey. Everyone is talking about how it will affect certain teams, and the reputation of the NHL has not been lower than this in a long time. That makes it very suspicious when the NHL releases new info about the next expansion team just minutes after news of their players leaving teams indefinitely.
As Frank points out, this would be a huge story, if there weren't already a bigger story that the NHL is seemingly attempting to sweep under the rug. People have been speculating for a while now what the next franchise would be, and it's very suspicious that the news comes out that soon after the police demand the players to come forward.
It could be a massive coincidence, but I wouldn't put it past the NHL to have timed this to happen. It seems like they again just want everyone to forget about what happens and move on, as it seems like they haven't done their due diligence in the story time and time again.
