The Edmonton Oilers returned to playoff hockey last year and surprised a lot of people, making it all the Western Conference finals before being eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche.

fast forward to the 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs and once again the Oilers begin the playoffs vs the Los Angeles Kings. The Oilers will once again have home ice advantage and Oilers head coach JAY Woodcroft would discuss playoffs with the media Saturday after practice.

"The excitement of our players today in practice was quite obvious.

Woodcroft would talk about teams emotions and keeping it in check, in the regular season you play different teams almost every night, to use it as a dress rehearsal to be ready for the playoffs.

here's the full interview with Woodcroft:

I think this year will be tougher for the Oilers as teams now know what to expect from the Oilers and the dynamic offense they have from Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Evander Kane and Zach Hyman. But the Oilers are better in goal this year which was their downfall last year meaning this could be the most dangerous Oilers playoff team since they last won the Stanley Cup.
