The Edmonton Oilers will have to look for a new right-handed defenseman in the off-season, as they will be shedding cap.
The Edmonton Oilers may need to make some changes to their defensive lineup for the upcoming Stanley Cup playoffs. One potential casualty could be Cody Ceci, who currently plays alongside Darnell Nurse.

To improve their chances of success and make it past the 2nd round, the Oilers should consider bolstering their right-side defenseman. Fortunately, there are several options available to them.

I believe that acquiring another top-four RD should be a priority for the Oilers this off-season.

An option is Caron Soucy from the Seattle Kraken. He's a versatile player who can play both LD and RD, excels in defense, and is effective at shutting down the opposition's rush. He's also an affordable choice for the Oilers.

Finally, there's Chris Tanev from the Calgary Flames. While it's uncertain if he could be traded, he fits all the criteria that the Oilers are looking for in a defenseman. He's able to suppress the opposition and limit turnovers, in addition to being an excellent passer.

Overall, these are the best options for the Oilers to explore as they seek to strengthen their defense for the future.
