Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl was absent from the Oilers' skills competition which took place yesterday the 28th of December, as well as the Oilers Morning practice as a whole. Draisaitl took a hit close to the head from number 28 Elias Lindholm.
Tyson Barrie was also absent, Jay Woodcroft stated both Drai and Barry were suffering with bumps and bruises.
No penalty was called on the play and certainly should have been looked that more closely.
Time will tell if this was more on the side of caution or if there could be something more serious. Draisaitl has been one of the main engines of the Oilers' offense and it would be a significant blow if he missed any time due to this potential injury.
The 25-year-old winger/center at one assist was a plus-one in that game. The Oilers ended up winning that game 2-1. In the 2022-2023 season, Draisaitl has played 36 games, scored 21 goals, 36 assists for 57 points, and is a + 4.
