Sportsnet reveals Oilers' odds of winning Stanley Cup next year.
With the season now complete and the summer now here for all NHL teams, it's always fascinating when a company released the odds of your favourite team winning the Stanley Cup next season.
It's fascinating because no one knows what the team is going to look like come October when the puck drops. Many can make decisions to restructure their organization and their lineups unexpectedly and others may toe the line with what they have and keep the band together.
Sportsnet stats tweeted out today that the Oilers have the third-best chance of winning the Stanley Cup next season.
With odds of plus 1200 and the fact they ranked the Maple Leafs just ahead of them by 50 points, it remains how the Oilers will proceed this summer to improve those odds and become the number one choice. Many expect Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to have another stellar year in 2024 along with Ryan Nugent Hopkins.
They also think that the Colorado Avalanche has the best chance at plus 750 though I don't think they do since their goaltending is suspect. For now, fans will enjoy the summer and watch how the Oilers make their changes to improve the roster.
