If you missed Tuesday night's match-up between the Detroit Red Wings and visiting Edmonton Oilers, you missed a game that had a playoff feel to it.
Although these two teams don't play each other often you wouldn't of known that from the battles and scrums this game had.
One incident that could definitely end up being reviewed by the NHL Department of Player Safety was during the 3rd period when Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi would take his stick and cross check the face of Oilers forward Evander Kane.
Bertuzzi would lead to another scrum but was quickly broken up by the linesmen. Bertuzzi has a reputation of cheap shots and although Kane isn't no angel, that cross check was abit overboard. I wouldn't be surprised to hear Wednesday that Bertuzzi has either received a fine and or suspension on the play, this is the stuff the NHL is trying to clean up.
