For this season, the Edmonton Oilers will again host a pride night.

The Pride Night will take place on January 18th against the Seattle Kraken, one of the teams Pacific Division rivals.

As shown above, the team taped its sticks with the pride tape last season, but hasn't revealed their plans for the night.

Last season, it was announced that the NHL would eliminate warmup jerseys for all special events, including Pride Night.

The Edmonton Oilers captain, Connor McDavid, expressed disappointment with those in the NHL forgoing the tradition of wearing warmups, which would later be auctioned for charity.

In addition to Indigenous Celebration Night, Hockey Fights Cancer Night, and a night honoring Canadian Armed Forces, the team will have other nights.

«I certainly can't speak for every organization. I know in Edmonton, we were one of the first teams to use the Pride Tape,» McDavid said at the time. «I know in Edmonton, in our dressing room, we strongly feel hockey is for everybody, and that includes Pride nights and stuff like that. Of course, it's disappointing to see. With that being said, that's certainly way above my decision. It's not my call, but it's disappointing to see.

«Everyone has their beliefs. I can't speak on those. All I can speak for is myself and us in Edmonton, and I know we strongly support those types of nights.»

This season, Black History Night, Ukrainian Heritage Night, and Lunar New Year will be included.

Edmonton Oilers continue to reach out to new communities and fan bases.
