With the NHL trade deadline coming up in just 3 weeks the NHL Network released their list of the top 10 trade bait Players likely to find a new home by March 3rd, let's check out their list:

#10 Vancouver Canucks Defenceman Luke Schenn

Schen would be a nice pick up for a playoff team, the 33 year-old is a solid shutdown defenceman that can still also add some offence with 3 goals, and 15 assists in 50 games this season. Schenn would be a cheap rental with a $850,000 salary.

#9 St Louis Blues Ivan Barbashev

Barbashev is a rugged two way forward with the Blues, the 27 year-old is a pending ufa and had 9 goals, and 15 assists in 51 games this season. Barbashev has a annual salary of $2.25 million dollars and is also a pending ufa.

#8 Anaheim Ducks John Klingberg

Klingberg is a interesting decision. He shouldn't even be on this list but got greedy during contract negotiations with his former team the Dallas Stars. After no better offers came in Klingberg signed a one-year $7 million dollar deal. The 30 year-old has 6 goals and 13 assists in 44 games this season.

#7 Detroit Red Wings Tyler Bertuzzi

Bertuzzi hasn't played much this season due to having surgery on his hand. The 27 year-old has 2 goals, and 4 assists in 18 games. Bertuzzi is a pending ufa and could be a nice pick-up, but tends to take some bad penalties that could end up hurting his team. Bertuzzi has a annual salary of $4.75 million

#6 Columbus Blue Jackets Vladislav Gavrikov

Gavrikov could be the gem in this year's trade deadline the 27 year-old Russian is a solid tyo-way defenceman and has a decent salary of just $2.8 million dollars. Gavrikov is a pending ufa and has 3 goals, and 10 assists in 50 games this season.

#5 Chicago Blackhawks Jonathan Toews

Captain Serious is going to be a first ballot Hall of famer when he hangs the skates up. The 34 year-old center has done it all in the NHL and battled back from a serious health issue to finish his career off the way he want. Toews can still produce having 14 goals, and 14 assists this season on the last place Blackhawks team.

#4 Detroit Red Wings Dylan Larkin

Larkin is the Red Wings captain but is most certainly not finishing the year in Detroit. The 26-year-old is having a excellent seaon with 15 goals, and 29 assists in 48 games. Lackin is a pending Ufa with a $6.1 million dollar salary but looking for $9 million next season, so this would be the perfect time to rent him at a discount.

#3 St Louis Blues Vladimir Tarasenko

Tarasenko might be the most dangerous player in the draft. The 31-year-old Russian is one of the most elite players in the NHL, all though he's having a disappointing season with the Blues having put up just 10 goals, and 19 assists in 38 games this season. Tarasenko is a pending ufa with a $7.5 million dollar annual salary.

#2 St Louis Blues Ryan O'Reilly

Ryan O'Reilly is a surprise pick as he was hoping to remain a member of the St Louis Blues for the remainder of his career. Unfortunately hockey is a business and the Blues having a disappointing season changes have to be made including trading away arguably there best two players. O'Reilly hasn't had a good year with just 10 goals, and 6 assists in 38 games. O'Reilly is also a pending ufa with a $7.5 dollar salary.

#1 Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Kane

If you were going to tell be 5 years ago the Chicago Blackhawks would be trading Patrick Kane like most people I would of laughed at you. Kane is arguably the greatest player in the history of the Blackhawks. Even at 34 Kane is still putting up solid numbers with 9 goals, and 26 assists in 38 games. Kane is a pending ufa but still hasn't decided if h3 will waive his no move-clause but is believed to before the deadline day.

I'm not sure of these top 10 that Oilers General Manager Ken Holland might look to add, expect Kenny to be working the phone heavy. The Oilers have been rumoured to be still trying to acquire Coyotes defenceman Jakob Chychrun, but of course they can't make that deal until they make cap space, hopefully he can make some more moves to help the Oilers take a run at the Stanley Cup.
