There were other two players acquired in the Arizona trade, who may have their free-agency status changed due to league rules.
Tyler Benson and Cam Dineen were a part of the trade for Nick Bjugstad, along with a 2023 3rd-round pick sent by Edmonton. Benson and Dineen haven't played enough games to retain their RFA status according to CapFriendly.
In order to meet this status, Dineen and Benson would have to accrue a certain amount of games, but since Dineen is turning 25 and Benson is 25, during their contract expiration they will become UFA's by June 30th.
This is not good news if Ken Holland is looking to keep the prospect pipeline full, as Benson and Dineen will have a choice to play next.
Both players are currently in the AHL playing with the Bakersfield Condors, both prospects combine for a total of 72 NHL games played split between them.
