Since being hired by the Vancouver Canucks, head coach Rick Tocchet has turned this team around dramatically which announced earlier today that Tocchet was named the Jack Adams Award.

The vote was overwhelming as Tocchet took 436 votes over Andrew Brunette's 145 of the Nashville Predators. In 3rd place it was Rick Bowness with 75 votes, who guided his final team after deciding to retire from the game with 40 years of coaching experience.

Oilers rookie head coach Kris Knoblauch also factored on the ballot has he received 64 votes which put him at 5th place.

Tocchet had a very different style compared to Bruce Boudreau as the Canucks were quite low in the standings until this season. Many pundits and fans across the league felt the Canucks were not a playoff team considering how they finished last year and with Tocchet's guidance and leadership he quietly silenced the pundits and gave the Vancouver Canucks fans something to cheer about for the first time in a long time.

The Canucks and Tocchet will now begin their offseason while Knoblauch and the Oilers are preparing to take on the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference final.
