A new photo of Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews hanging out in public is circulating on social media, and Leafs fans are absolutely refusing to be normal about it.
McDavid and Matthews were seen sitting down in a restaurant recently, and Leafs fans have ridiculously jumped on it as Matthews recruiting McDavid to play in Toronto.
As Oilers fans, there's no reason to believe that McDavid is leaving to play in Toronto when is contract expires in two seasons. This meeting is simply between two friends and superstars, just catching up before the season begins. Last week, McDavid and Matthews were spotted together for an unknown event with EHC Red Bull Munchen in Germany.
Toronto Maple Leafs fans can dream all they want, but McDavid has harshly shut down any idea of playing for the Leafs in recent years.
