The Edmonton Oilers archrival the Vancouver Canucks has received good news that starting goaltender Thatcher Demko has resumed skating after being sidelined for several months.

Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal broke the news on Dhaliwal sports earlier yesterday. He described that Demko has resumed skating and has begun working out which is the sigh of relief for the Canucks as he has been the backbone of this team especially with their resurgence last year.

The Canucks goaltending was the biggest question mark last year as the team made the playoffs and tried to make a serious push to the Finals. After receiving some heroic goaltending from Casey Desmith, the Canucks unsung hero Arturs Silovs kept their playoffs going until they ran out of gas against the Edmonton Oilers in the second round .

Dhaliwal also reported that the Vancouver Canucks are attempting to sign unrestricted free agent Kevin Lankinen to a deal as it appears that Silovs has inflammation in his knee and cannot participate in practice now.

It remains to be seen on how the Canucks will play this season and can they recapture last year's moments. One thing is for certain, the oilers will be ready to play against them and do their best to knock them out of the playoffs once again.
