The Calgary Flames season is now in the books and general manager Craig Conroy appears to be ready to move on from Jacob Markstrom. According to Eric Francis of Sportsnet, Conroy was asked whether Markstrom would be back in a flames uniform to which he implied time will tell.

The Flames season has been a turbulent one with the team continuing its transformation since the departure of Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk. The endless departure of quality players appears not to be over with Markstrom next on the list.

Get appeared that Markstrom was heading to the New Jersey Devils as he was asked to waive his no trade clause and was told that a deal was imminent. However, it was told that flames ownership vetoed the trade and left Markstrom looking for answers. During his interview after the failed trade, Markstrom was very agitated and quite upset on how things were handled.

Now the Flames will focus on their offseason plans and whether Markstrom will be part of those plans or not remains to be seen. With no cap in place and many more potential buyers available during the summer months, Craig Conroy and flames management may find a new home for Markstrom with a better return.
