Now that the dust has settled, it was revealed today by Elliotte Friedman of the 32 thoughts podcast that the new Utah team will remain in the central Division. This, after the news broke that the Arizona Coyotes had been sold to Ryan Smith, the owner of the Utah Jazz who will now have his team play in the Delta Center.

With this knowledge, it's clear that a minor realignment within the Pacific Division will not occur after Adrian dater had posted a potential move with the Avalanche, Oilers and the Flames.

It became clear that this move to Utah was a great one for the NHL and bringing in Ryan Smith into the fold. In less than 24 hours after the announcement, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic explained that over 20,000 season ticket deposits were purchased, and that Ryan Smith will begin renovations of the delta centre to accommodate up to 17,000 seats for hockey.

The Delta Center currently can only hold 14,000 to watch which will give the arena a much-needed facelift as it was constructed in 1991.

This seems to be a win-win for all parties, and it will be fascinated on how they can put all this together very quickly as they intend to drop the puck in the delta centre at the beginning of next season.
