It was another tough season for the Calgary Flames as several players continued the exodus out of the team, to which flames defenseman Mackenzie Weegar spoke up during a recent episode of the Missing Curfew podcast.

Weegar stated quite strongly on how he felt about other players such as flames defenseman Noah Hanifan who express the want to leave the flames for a contending team. The flames ended up trading him to the Vegas golden Knights and received a long-term deal.

"This doesn't discredit them at all but if you don't wanna be here and I've said this before then just get out."

The Flames have been reeling over the past several years after Matthew Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau left the team due to the desire to find success elsewhere. This led to a slew of players wanting to go which includes Jacob Markstrom who may be on the trading block this summer.

The 30-year-old defenseman had a great year considering where the flames were in the standings. He played all 82 games, scoring 20 goals with 32 assists for 52 points and was a + 2.

He has become a fixture on the blue line and the hope is that general manager Craig Conroy will try to find other defensemen to work around Weegar as the Flames continue their rebuilding phase.

The Flames will choose 9th overall in this year's entry draft and it remains to be seen on whether Conroy will try to move up as it's a defenseman laden draft past Macklin Celebrini.
