The reviews are in and they're not good as NHL fans react to the personnel Sportsnet choose for Opening Night's intermissions panel.

Many fans were expecting their HNIC star-studded cast to be the choice for the season opener with Kevin Bieksa, Elliotte Friedman, Kelly Hrudey and Jennifer Botterill. Instead the network choose to go with David Amber, Colby Armstrong, Luke Gazdic and Sam Cosentino which drew many fans to voice their angry opinions on X platform.

It certainly was not a good look for Sportsnet as NHL fans in Canada have grown accustomed to a certain standard especially when it comes to the opening game of the season. Many fans tune in for the coverage whether it's the intermissions or the entire broadcast to hear commentators like Kevin Bieska who offers his insight to the game as he played in the NHL for many years.

We also enjoy hearing the upcoming rumors and talk around the NHL as Friedman offers insight on these types of stories. But it's safe to say that the NHL fan base who watched that program were seriously underwhelmed and downright disappointed how sports that handled this night.

Many have pointed to the recent cutbacks that have plagued the network which included recently the firing of Christine Simpson

It remains to be seen if there will be any changes to their lineup or if Sportsnet intends to run back this panel for the remainder of the season. But without a doubt the fan base will let the network know on how they feel about this poor choice.
