In typical Zadorov fashion, he took a direct shot at Flames fans when he stated that their fan base is not as big as Oilers fans. He went on to even say that the Flames are not even Alberta's favorite team which led many media pundits to laugh after that statement.
He tried to walk back his comments by saying that the Oilers have been around longer then Calgary which led to a bigger fan base while holding a smirk on his face.
He also sang the praises of the Vancouver Canucks and the fan base as he felt the fans are at another level compared to the teams in Alberta.
There has been a long history between Zadorov and the Oilers when he did play for the Flames and in the middle of this series, he razzed Oilers fans saying that the city of Edmonton has nothing to do but to watch the Oilers. He also enjoyed taunting fans especially when he was in the penalty box.
Zadorov has spent half this season with the Canucks after being moved from the Calgary Flames and seems to be ready to take his contract to the next level as many pundits have stated he would like a six-year $36 million contract.
With the Canucks working through their cap space and with several players needing raises, it's likely that Zadorov will not stay in Vancouver even though his family likes it there.
