oilers being looked at for tampering due to oilers players reaching out to Connor brown
The media recently interviewed Connor Brown regarding his situation as an unrestricted free agent in the NHL.
Brown had a challenging season in Washington due to an injury that kept him sidelined. He has now signed a contract with Edmonton for $775K on a "prove it" basis.
However, there are concerns that the Edmonton Oilers may face tampering charges as per the NHL's rules, which prohibit discussion with free agents before July 1st.
It seems Connor McDavid and the Oilers may have tampered with Brown.
Given the recent lawlessness in the NHL, including questionable officiating at the highest levels, it remains to be seen if there will be any actionable consequences for the team. At present, all we can do is wait and see.
