There are very few feelings as heartbreaking as losing game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Oilers experienced that feeling this past year, with footage coming out of the locker room after their close call with winning the Stanley Cup.
It's very interesting to see the dynamic of the players in the locker room, especially after such a gut wrenching loss. All anyone can do is sit and bask in the emotion, with the silence of the locker room speaking volumes of their feelings.
A loss like this can do one of two things for a team; it can either motivate them to get back there and re-write their story, or it can crush a team and shatter their spirits. The Florida Panthers took it as a challenge to get back and win the cup and it ended up very successful for them.
One person who is catching a lot of flack is Corey Perry. Perry has a notorious reputation for getting so close and not winning the cup, with his 4 Cup Finals appearances in the last 5 years. Lots of people online are making fun of Perry for his lack of reaction, saying that he's too used to losing.
This footage is so sad to see, and it's Hyman that chooses to say something first. He talks about how he hopes they can keep as many players as possible, which GM Jeff Jackson did a great job of executing on. With the team getting better during the off-season it wouldn't be surprising to see them here again, but hopefully with a much happier reaction after the Cup is awarded this time.
