Moments ago, Oilers forward Warren Foegele received a five minute major and an ejection for a knee on knee collision with Eetu Luostarinen.

The collision really looks like more of an awkward and unexpected contact, but when really looking at the video, Foegele does extend his knee to make contact with Luostarinen's knee. Luostarinen's leg snapped back violently, and he was down on the ice in pain for more than a few moments. The trainer came out to attend to him, and Luostarinen left the game, then returned.

Just minutes earlier in the period, Sam Bennett targeted Evan Bouchard with a late and intentional knee on knee hit, but thankfully didn't make hard contact with Bouchard. Still, this was called just a minor penalty.

Foegele received a harsh in-game punishment for this play, which the NHL considers when determining supplemental discipline. It's possible Foegele could be fined, but a suspension in the Cup Final for this play feel unlikely. Plenty of Oilers fans have though already the contact was unintentional, and it's definitely a possibility.

We'll have to see tomorrow if the Oilers will lose Foegele for another game due to a suspension, but thankfully, the incredible penalty kill was able to kill off the penalty, and actually score on a 4-on-4. So far in a near must win game, the Oilers are in the drivers seat.
