Senators Brady Tkachuk addresses ongoing trade rumors
For the past several months, rumors have been rampant have an impending trade of senators captain Brady could Chuck and during an interview with the Locked on Senators podcast, Tkachuk address those rumors.
During his interview he made it clear that he always had the vision of winning a Stanley Cup in Ottawa and that he will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. After being chosen 4th overall in 2018, Tkachuk has settled into his contract which was a seven-year deal worth $57.56 million. He holds a cap hit of 8.22 million per season and has improved his game with every year.
During last year's season, he played 81 games while scoring 37 goals with 37 assists for 74 points and 134 penalty minutes. These rumors surfaced because of comments that he made near the end of the season that he was not having any fun in Ottawa and with the new ownership taking over of Michael Andlauer and new general manager Steve Staios many fans felt that the captain could be on his way out.
With the recent acquisition of Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark which was a big need for the Senators, it's likely the team will take a step forward as their young core grows together and potentially could be making noise for a playoff spot next year.
Tkachuk Is there to stay and I expect Staios and his management team to help build out around him.
